It seems like Dillian Whyte might have to travel abroad to fight Kubrat Pulev in order to settle the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua’s IBF World heavyweight title.
‘The Cobra’, ranked second by the IBF, is ’95 percent sure’ the final eliminator will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria.
“It is 95 percent sure that this game (against Whyte) will be held in Bulgaria,” the 37-year-old Pulev wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
In addition, Bulgarian media BTNovinite viaMichael Benson revealed a potential date and a venue.

“Kubrat Pulev v Dillian Whyte is being planned for an August date at the 43,000 capacity Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria.”
IBF’s fourth-ranked heavyweight Whyte will be eyeing a second clash against Joshua with a win over Pulev. The pair met back in 2015 with Joshua stopping ‘The Body Snatcher’ in round seven.
Pulev had his original date against ‘AJ’ set in October last year but had to pull out due to a shoulder injury. The 37-year-old veteran of the sport also gets a chance to settle unfinished business with Joshua should he get past the Brixton boxer.
