Moses Itauma’s heavyweight clash with Jermaine Franklin has been postponed after the British contender picked up an injury in training, forcing a delay to the entire Magnificent 7 fight card.
The bout was due to headline Queensberry’s January 24, 2026 event, but organisers confirmed on Tuesday, January 13 that the show will now take place on March 28.
The decision shakes up Queensberry’s early 2026 schedule and temporarily puts Britain’s fastest-rising heavyweights on pause.
The postponement was confirmed through an official Queensberry Promotions statement released on January 13, with the news then carried across leading boxing and sports outlets.
Reports from platforms including Sky Sports and ESPN confirmed that Itauma had suffered an injury in camp that ruled him out of the original January date.
Queensberry said in its statement: “Moses Itauma has sustained an injury in camp for his fight with Jermaine Franklin on January 24.
“Due to this, the whole Magnificent 7 show has been postponed and moved to the new date of March 28th at the Co Op Live in Manchester.”
The Magnificent 7 card had been built around Itauma’s step up against Franklin, an experienced American heavyweight who has only been beaten on points by Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
The matchup was widely viewed as a key test of Itauma’s world level credentials as he continues his rapid rise through the division.
At just 21, Itauma has become one of the most talked about young heavyweights in boxing, particularly after stopping Dillian Whyte in the first round back in August.
That victory elevated him into serious contender territory and made the Franklin fight an exciting bout to mark the beginning of Moses’ year.
By moving the full card to March 28, Queensberry has ensured that all seven bouts remain intact while giving Itauma the necessary time to recover.
No details of the injury have been disclosed as of yet.
