Fans ‘Switch Their Picks’ After Seeing Training Footage Of Jake Paul’s Next Opponent

Jake Paul faces 17-2 professional boxer Ryan Bourland on Amanda Serrano’s undercard in Puerto Rico on Saturday night, and after training footage of Bourland was shared, some fans have opted to change their fight predictions.

Paul recently stopped Andre August (10-1-1) in the opening round of their contest, and now meets former Golden Gloves champion Bourland, although the Californian lacks the inactivity of ‘The Problem Child’ – fighting just once since 2018 when he competed in 2022.

Bourland has spent most of his career at light-heavyweight but his contest two years ago was up at cruiserweight, a division at which Paul has fought at in all nine of his professional bouts and will continue to campaign at, as he seeks to climb the world rankings.

Ahead of their fight, KX News did a story on the 35-year-old underdog’s mammoth opportunity to face Paul on the big stage, where Bourland claims that he is ‘never in a boring fight’.

“I’m happy to get it [the opportunity to face Jake Paul], and I am taking it really, really serious. It’s never really a boring fight when I fight. I am always in shape and I am always ready to fight.”

Despite his excitement and optimism, fans on social media were left unimpressed by Bourland’s skills, with a lack of speed appearing evident.

Commenters on the post labelled Bourland as a ‘step backward in competition’ for the YouTuber-turned-boxer and some even admitted that they were changing their picks from a ‘second-round Jake Paul knockout’ to a ‘first-round Jake Paul knockout’.

Paul will face Bourland on the undercard of Amanda Serrano’s undisputed featherweight title defence against Nina Meinke live on DAZN on Saturday.
