There’s perhaps nobody better suited to predict a Tommy Fury fight than his most high-profile opponent, Jake Paul.
Fury continues his stint on the influencer boxing scene by taking on popular content creator turned fighter, KSI, this weekend in Manchester following a split decision win over Paul in February.
The American told the Full Send podcast that, no matter the outcome, he wants to face both main event fighters – although he sees a rematch with Fury being much easier to make.
“Tommy, KSI, whatever happens there, both of those fights I want. I want both of them regardless of what happens … [Fury and I] have talked, we’ve DMd back and forth like ‘let’s do the rematch in 2024,’ so he’s down.”
“KSI denied fighting me because I wouldn’t agree to getting down to 180 pounds with a rehydration clause … He was hiding behind that and not wanting to do the fight. So we said this isn’t going to work.”
As for how he believes their fight goes, Paul made a precise stoppage prediction in favour of his former opponent.
“I think Tommy TKOs him in the fourth round.”
The Misfits event is expected to be one of the best-selling of its kind. Fury will enter the sold-out arena as a favourite, with the general consensus being that his fundamental boxing skills should see him through again.
He’s adamant that he will soon be done with this scene and take a more traditional route in attempt to win a boxing world title, but the money and hype may be two things tough to turn away from – especially if there’s a lucrative rematch with Paul waiting.
