Jake Paul and Tommy Fury have both met the 185lb agreed weight for their fight in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night.
Paul (6-0, 4 KOs) will face an opponent who has exclusively trained as a boxer for the first time in his short career. As for Fury (8-0, 4 KOs), the Brit has main event duties and an eight-rounder to deal with, neither of which he has before.
The stars – who bring huge followings to the event courtesy of YouTube and Love Island paired with a famous family name – formally took to the scales in the Middle Eastern sun. As is standard for this event, the housekeeping of praising the host nation filled the time until the fighters took the stage.
Mauricio Sulaiman of the WBC was front and centre, the co-main even being their cruiserweight title fight between champion Ilunga Makabu (198.5lb) and challenger Badou Jack (199.8lb). He’s also there because the sanctioning body’s wagon is well and truly hitched to the Jake Paul hype train. The main event winner will be awarded a special ‘Diriyah Champion’ belt.
Paul and Fury were also joined on stage by their brothers, Logan and Tyson, as well as Derek Chisora and announcer Michael Buffer. The official weights are:

The teams exchanged some words as the fighters came face to face. Paul repeated ‘you didn’t sign the contract’ while Fury told him he was ‘getting knocked the f**k out’ over and over. There was a push from a very-hyped Fury before the pair were split up. Paul, perhaps surprisingly, was booed when he spoke. He said Fury was overly nervous.

That contract Paul was referring to is the one the Fury’s are in receipt of one that will double Tommy’s purse if he wins but see him leave with empty pockets if not.
Taking to the scales was the last hurdle in a fight that has always teased it might fall through. It hasn’t, and both men are ready to battle it out tomorrow night.
If the matchmaking lacks skill, it more than makes up for that in intrigue. Big names in the sport are split on who wins and how, although the bookies do have Paul as a slight betting favourite.
Paul and Fury are supremely confident that they win by stoppage in the first half fo the eight-round contest, and one – or both – will be proved wrong tomorrow night in Diriyah.
