Rising light heavyweight Jake Sharp from Newark is getting ready to step into the ring as a professional for the third time in his career.
So far ‘Razor’ Sharp has fought two times and left the ring victorious each time with TKO wins. Despite fighting only twice as a professional, he’s already known for his exciting style and never back down attitude. Sharp himself is aware that’s what gets you fans and raises fighter profile. But being a professional is still sinking in.
“My confidence is growing every week. Obviously, my last two previous fights ended in a TKO. Two fights, two knockouts, that’s what the people want to see right? But it’s still sinking in,” laughed Sharp.
The 23 year old boxer promoted by Carl Greaves is fighting this weekend at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham and according to Sharp, he’s feeling better than ever albeit a bit nervous but that comes with the game.

“I’m feeling good. The weight is there. I some got natural nerves which is normal. We’ve been here before,” he said.
Sharp has had some tough training camps before but hinted that he might put on his best performance yet on Saturday.
“Training camp has been good. Best camp I’ve had. No injuries. The two previous camps have been stiffy. This one’s the best yet. I’m far fitter, a lot fitter. I’m stronger. All around improvements,” commented Sharp.
Sharp will face Polis Kamil Al Temimi who is a short notice replacement and this gives ‘Razor’ a good opportunity to make a statement
“Unfortunately, my original opponent got stopped so I have a change in opponent. Polish lad. He has a nice amateur background but I’m looking to make a statement as a professional.”

Sharp is looking to get his third career win and then focus on the next fight which is schedulled to take place in February 2018.
“This will be my last fight for the year. February 2018 next,” told Sharp.
The plan for the upcoming year is clear. Sharp will step up to bigger fights and build himself a bigger name in the scene.
“Next year I’m going to step it up to six rounders. Right now we’ve got eyes on this good kid. I’m going to gain experience from fighting experienced opponents,” he summarised.
