Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are strongly linked to fight this December in Saudi Arabia – and their fellow heavyweights haven’t been shy in making predictions.
Whilst the fight hasn’t been signed, it’s said that both men are eager and willing, and a huge purse from Saudi Arabia won’t hurt. It’s one fans have called for for years now, and the winner will be well-placed to challenge for at least one world title.
‘AJ’ is no stranger to fights falling through though – perhaps the best example being with controversial heavyweight, Jarrell Miller. Miller was found to have cheated via doping tests just weeks before his bout with the Brit, and was pulled from the event.
He’s back on the scene, has built up some wins, and is angling for that big fight once more. Speaking to BroBible, he made a frank prediction for the Wilder fight should it happen.
“S**t. As much as I hate both of them, Wilder puts him in the hospital forever, bro.”
Wilder has 42 knockouts from 43 wins – and that one fight that went the distance was later turned into a stoppage in the rematch. It means he’s finished every man he’s beaten, and Tyson Fury remains the only exception to his record.
Although Fury has two wins and a draw against the American, he was still floored four times over the course of the trilogy. All in all, ‘AJ’ has a hard task ahead.
He’s no slouch in the power department himself, though, with 22 knockouts from 25 wins. It’s these stats that lead many in the sport to believe the fight simply comes down to who lands first – and Miller clearly believes it will be Wilder.
