Jarrell Miller will not fight later this week.
The undefeated 30-year-old had been set to return on Friday in New York.
Miller (23-0-1, 20 KOs) was last in action in November in Kansas when he claimed the vacant WBO NABO title with a victory over Romania’s Bogdan Dinu.
And he was expected to fight at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in a few days’ time, as part of the supporting cast to WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade’s first defence against Artur Akavov.
But the 300-odd-pound fighter couldn’t get an opponent, meaning his start to 2019 would have to wait. Despite several offers being made to ranked contenders, many deemed them to be at too short notice.
The card is still a strong one, however, as new Matchroom Boxing signing TJ Doheny makes the first defence of his IBF super-bantamweight crown against Japan’s Ryohei Takahashi and Amanda Serrano, a target of WBA and IBF female lightweight champion Katie Taylor, targets another world title in another weight division when she faces Eva Voraberger of Austria for the vacant WBO female super-flyweight title.
Jorge Linares challenges Pablo Cesar Cano for the WBC International Silver super-lightweight title, while there is action for Reshat Mati, Nkosi Solomon and former world champion Chris Algieri, as well as Alexis Rocha, Julian Sosa and Cornell Hines.
