There has been much speculation over what Jermell Charlo’s next move will be after his September 20th clash against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez – and he’s provided fans with an update.
Calls for Charlo to take on Terence Crawford have been widespread, after Crawford’s nine round dismantling of his good friend and stablemate Errol Spence Jr at the T-Mobile Arena last month.
And, in a recent Instagram post, Charlo revealed he would be more than willing to come back down in weight to face Crawford after he “shocks the world” against Canelo.
Bout To Shock The World (168). Then I’m Coming Back To Hold My Throne Down at (154). IM THE KING. NOTHING Will Stop Me. Mega Fight’s Here On Out. After My Boy Rematch We Can Give The People What They Want And Make The @tbudcrawford Happen!! 🦁#InMyZone#OHB#LionsOnly
In the middle of his fight with Spence, Crawford actually found time to go back and forth verbally with Charlo, who was sit ringside.
The pair have never had the best relationship, so the build up will no doubt be a spicy one should a fight ever materialise.
However, that will all hang on whether Spence decides to activate a contractual rematch clause, in which case ‘Bud’ will have no choice but to take on ‘The Truth’ once again.
However, so one sided was their first meeting, the consensus amongst boxing fans is that they would rather see Crawford chase further greatness at higher weights.
Spence has admitted he would prefer any rematch takes place up at 154lbs, which Crawford did not shut down.
