Joe Joyce Names Fighters Who Would Have Beaten Anthony Joshua

Ahead of his next fight this weekend Joe Joyce has named two fighters he thinks would beat Anthony Joshua.

Joyce is looking to bounce back after a difficult 2023 in which he lost twice, by knockout, to big Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang.

They marked the first time he had lost, or even been hurt, and now he takes on Kash Ali who is best known for having bitten David Price when the two met a few years ago.

Last week, Joyce predicted that his heavyweight rival Joshua might lose to Ngannou, which he got rather wrong, and now, speaking to OLBG, he has named a man he thinks would beat his fellow Brit.

“Both in their prime, I think David Haye beats Anthony Joshua. I haven’t sparred Haye but in his prime he would have done Joshua, he had that explosive power and the head movement, he was unpredictable.

“Haye did struggle against Klitschko, but his hayemaker was heavy duty. His style at the time would have beaten AJ, he was very fast and hard to hit, I think Haye uninjured in his prime win.”

He then said ‘The Greatest’ would also come out on top against Joshua.

“Muhammad Ali beats Anthony Joshua all day. He would have smacked-talked AJ and then proceeded to jab his off. He was a bit smaller than AJ, but it would be a bit like Ali-Foreman, Ali would probably just rope-a-dope AJ and knock him out.”

Should Joyce come through his opponent this weekend, he will be one step closer to a world title fight of his own.
