With just a few weeks to go until Tyson Fury fights Francis Ngannou, the pair have attended a media workout and Tyon’s father John was not impressed with what he saw calling it ‘a disgrace.’
Ngannou’s fight with lineal and WBC heavyweight champion Fury will be his pro debut. The Cameroonian-Frenchman has never stepped inside the squared circle before, instead doing all of his business to date in the octagon as an MMA fighter.
Though he got to the top of that world in the heavyweight division, making the switch to the noble art will not be easy, especially in the face of the competition. Fury has been boxing since he was just a child and has been WBC champion since 2020 having regained it for a second time after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in his own backyard back in 2015.
John Fury shared a video of his reaction to Ngannou’s media workout ahead of the fight in Riyadh.
“I hope that’s a joke… If that’s what he’s got, God help him, he’ll get smashed to bits. That’s embarrassing. It’s a disgrace.”

For that reason, many think Fury should have pursued more legitimate but potentially less lucrative fights with the likes of Anthony Joshua or the unified WBA, IBF and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk, which reports claim his team will be pursuing following this bout on October 28.
