John Fury has stated that ‘useless’ Jake Paul can either fight his son, Tommy, or jog on – as well as claiming that he himself could beat the young American.
Tommy Fury has pulled out of two fights with the YouTuber-turned-fighter so far – the first due to injury and second because of travel issues. However, since many in the sport see the match up as perfect for both considering the stages they’re at, the fight is still discussed regularly.
Whilst Paul’s 6-0 (4 KOs) record impresses some, the list of retired MMA fighters on it does not say much in terms of boxing skill in the eyes of others. His latest win was a career best, but came over a 47-year-old Anderson Silva who took the 25-year-old the full distance.
One man who certainly doesn’t rate Paul is John Fury – father of Tommy and WBC Heavyweight Champion, Tyson. He told IFL TV that, based off the Silva fight, Paul couldn’t beat him never mind his son.
“He knows where we’re at. You know, if he wants to fight let him fight, if he don’t let him jog on. I seen his last performance. He couldn’t beat me. He’s useless.”

Tommy Fury faces former US Marine, Paul Bamba, this weekend on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather’s latest exhibition. The 5-2 light heavyweight represents a strange move from team Fury given Tommy’s insistence that he wants to win world titles and have his name in the history books.
The reason behind the fight is likely more about the event rather than the competition. A special ringside guest for the night is one Jake Paul, who is likely to have something to say about Fury’s performance. He may want to address his father’s comments, too.
