Jordan Gill produced a scintillating performance in topping his first bill live on Sky Sports, stopping Emmanuel Dominguez in three-rounds in front of a capacity crowd at Peterborough’s East of England Arena.
Gill, a native of nearby Chatteris, repeatedly tagged his Mexican counterpart with sharp accurate punches throughout the early proceedings, visibly wobbling him on numerous occasions in the second round.
Living up to his nickname, the Thrill then dramatically ended proceedings in the third round after nailing Dominguez – who prior to this contest had only been stopped once – with a surgical right hand before delivering the coup-de-grace with some razor-sharp combinations to force a sensational stoppage win.
In a jubilant post-fight interview, promoter Eddie Hearn has earmarked former world champion Kiko Martinez as a potential next opponent as Gill, who will no doubt be hoping to continue his meteoric rise into the British featherweight scene with another electrifying display in front of a local crowd soon enough.
