Dillian Whyte secured a victory over Jermaine Franklin last weekend, which may just set up a rematch with his old rival, Anthony Joshua.
Whyte won a majority decision against the unbeaten American, but many fans believe that Franklin had done enough to claim a shock victory. Regardless, ‘The Bodysnatcher’ moves on with a comeback win under his belt.
Watching closely was none other than Anthony Joshua. The pair fought back in 2015 which resulted in an ‘AJ’ KO, and ever since Whyte has expressed an interest in avenging the defeat.
After the bout, Joshua went to ringside to congratulate his old foe, who was quick to comment on how hard ‘AJ’ fist bumped him. Following that, Joshua complimented Whyte’s new defensive guard.

‘AJ’ was complimentary of Whyte’s new style, who has a new trainer in the form of Buddy McGirt, however it could well be gamesmanship if the two are expecting to fight one another once again.
Once Joshua spotted that the cameras were on him, he was quick to make an exit to let Whyte have the spotlight.
The promoter of both men, Eddie Hearn, claimed that Joshua is set to return to action around the end of March as he continues to seek an opponent. It will mark his first fight since Oleksandr Usyk scored consecutive victories against him.
There are plenty of options for the former two-time heavyweight champion, but it seems a grudge match with Whyte sits atop the list. The fight would do well with the domestic crowd and, given the pair’s history, likely consist of a heated build up.
Franklin – who surprised many people with his performance despite the loss – is still in the mix, too, according to Hearn.
