Katie Taylor’s next fight has been a hot topic for months and now it has been officially announced that she will be part of one of the biggest events of the year.
Fans have been clamouring for a rematch between Taylor and rival Amanda Serrano ever since their epic Madison Square Garden battle in April 2022, with Taylor earning a win by split decision.
Now over two years later, the pair are set to finally meet again, after it was announced that they will clash on the huge Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20th, live on Netflix.
Taylor will put her undisputed super-lightweight titles on the line in the fight, following her two bouts with Chantelle Cameron in 2023.
The Irish hero initially lost the first fight, but gained revenge on Cameron in November to become undisputed in a second division, following her success at lightweight.
Serrano was last scheduled to compete in a huge homecoming in March, but a freak eye injury meant that the bout had to be cancelled on the night of the fight.
The fight between Taylor and Serrano will be contested over 10 two minute rounds, despite Serrano making history as of late by competing in three minute rounds in world title action.
The addition of Taylor vs. Serrano as the co-main event to the Paul vs. Tyson fight means that there will be professional bouts on the card, with Paul and Tyson still currently set to be an exhibition.
