It has been widely reported that Katie Taylor’s homecoming is inching ever closer, with Croke Park said to be the preferred venue.
Taylor, 37, has previously stated that her dream would be to have one final farewell at Croke Park in front of her Dublin faithful. It is understood that, should it take place, Taylor would return in early September.
Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that it is now or never for the 37-year-old. He also said the Irish government and the GAA need to step up and do more to deliver one of Ireland’s greatest sporting heroes her dream homecoming.
It has been widely reported that negotiations for an early September showdown are progressing well, although there are still stumbling blocks in the way, according to the Matchroom CEO.
Opponents have yet to be officially targeted, although Chantelle Cameron is currently viewed as the favourite following their two thrilling fights at the 3Arena in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
