The WBC and WBA world welterweight champion, Keith Thurman has finally responded to the growing number of people who believe he is avoiding a unification clash with the fearsome IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence.
The match-up is currently being billed as one of the hottest that can be made in boxing right now.
It would appear that both men are on a collision course.
The opportunity to unify the three major traditional governing body titles of the WBA, IBF and WBC would be a lucrative proposition for both combatants.
Errol Spence is fresh from making the first defence of the world title he won from Kell Brook in Sheffield, last May.
He dominated and seemingly crushed the former 2-weight world champion Lamont Peterson inside of eight rounds.
Thurman however, has been inactive since unifying the titles against Danny Garcia in March 2017.
Following the fight, Thurman was ruled out for six months following surgery on his right elbow and has only recently completely finished his rehabilitation.
His return to the ring has been penciled in for May 19th at the Barclays Arena in New York.
There is still no official word as to who his opponent will be, but most likely it will be a fringe contender in his first fight back following a serious injury.
On the topic of a clash with Spence, recently Thurman stated he feels that clash will eventually happened but shared he has other priorities in 2018, ‘One Time’ referred to 2018 as a ‘get back year’.
“The ‘truth’ will be revealed when [we get in the ring]. Right now it’s not on the to do list. I know it’s coming, I know it’s coming.
If he’s ‘the truth,’ he ain’t going nowhere. I’ve got two titles and you already know that I ain’t going nowhere.
I’m gonna hold it down. If he’s the truth he ain’t going nowhere, it’s gonna happen.. chill.. chill,” Thurman said.
But now Thurman has issued a chilling warning to Spence.
Thurman seems to be growing incensed at the other contenders who campaign at welterweight repeatedly mentioning his name and finally felt the need to respond.
“My name is coming out of everybody’s mouth. I will handle you. I like that everyone in the world thinks Errol Spence can beat me.

Thurman says he will handle ‘The Truth’ and he promised that when they will meet, he will ‘whoop that ass.’
That’s cool, lose your money that night. That’s not my fault. It will be my fault when I whoop that ass. I will handle him, I will handle him.
This is my division. My name is in their mouth. Their names are not in my mouth,” Thurman concluded.
