Boxing fans should expect big news from Amir Khan in the coming days.
The former WBA World super lightweight champion was recently a guest on TalkSport and opened up about his March comeback and fighting in the UK for the first time in seven years but also teased fans with an upcoming huge announcement.

“I haven’t fought in the UK for seven years. It is time to come back home now so I am looking at fighting in March,” said Khan in the interview.
Khan last fought on home soil in 2011 when he retained his title against Paul McCloskey in Manchester. However, Khan’s latest outing in the ring wasn’t so successful when he got knocked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in 2016.
2018 will be busy as ‘King’ Khan is targeting at least two fights in the UK and possibly a World title fight to close out the year.

“Then I plan to fight again in the UK around September time and then at the end of the year I want a big fight, wherever that is,” he continued.
As to what comes to his big announcement, it’s anyone’s guess what Khan has in store for us.
“There are some big, big announcements I will make within the next ten days before I go back to training camp in America. This is news everyone is going to be shocked hearing.”
2017 wasn’t the best the year for Khan. The former World champion went through various public scandals, including the infamous social media incident with Anthony Joshua.
Khan explained that the public setbacks were one of the reasons why he wanted to join a reality show to close out 2017.
“I felt going in the jungle would get me away from a lot of stuff that has happened in my life in the last few years,” Khan said.
“It was like a detox, being with new friends, being away from your home. If I was sat at home not doing anything, I would have got depressed, I would have got so bored, I wouldn’t have known what to do with myself.
“Now knowing I don’t have to go into a boxing ring or go into training camps having injections in my hand, I am going to be more confident. The straight right is my best shot so I can’t wait to use it properly. It feels better than ever.
“All my career I have had this pain and now to have none is amazing,” revealed Khan.
As to who Khan would like to fight this year, he recently went on Twitter and revealed a list of opponents, including the aforementioned Keith Thurman.
