Oleksandr Usyk promoter Alex Krassyuk says three locations are in the running to stage the Ukrainian’s rematch with Anthony Joshua next year.
Usyk claimed the WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles with an impressive unanimous decision win over Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in September.
With Joshua activating his rematch clause post-fight, the second encounter between the pair is expected to take place in Spring 2022.
Krassyuk says discussions will begin soon with Eddie Hearn, with three locations on the shortlist to host the rematch. He told Sky Sports:
“We plan to meet with Eddie Hearn within the next couple of weeks to initiate the rematch activities.
“We have three options under consideration – The UK, Ukraine and the Middle East. Hopefully by the end of 2021, we will be in the position to take the final decision.”
