According to multiple reports, the highly anticipated lightweight bout between challenger Vasyl Lomachenko and WBA World champion Jorge Linares is officially pencilled for May 12th.

Lance Pugmire of the La Times reported on Twitter and wrote:
“Contracts are signed, done deal for Vasyl Lomachenko/Jorge Linares May 12 at The Garden.”
The Madison Square Garden in New York City will serve as the venue for Lomachenko’s first professional fight at lightweight. Arguably the most challenging pound-for-pound boxer, Lomachenko is looking to add a second title next to his WBO World super featherweight title.
The contract signing was also confirmed by ESPN.
