WBO cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie (16-0, 13 KOs) will return against mandatory challenger Dilan Prašović (15-0, 12 KOs) on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s unified heavyweight title defence against Oleksandr Usyk on September 25th, sources tell Boxing Social.
It will mark Okolie’s first defence of the title he won with a career-best performance in halting former world champion Krzysztof Glowacki in six rounds back in March.
The 28-year-old Hackney hitter has won his previous six fights by stoppage, and will once again look to make quick work of the largely-unknown Prašović before setting his sights on unifying the cruiserweight division.
Okolie has made no secret of his desire to face fellow champions Illunga Makabu (WBC) and Arsen Goulamirian (WBA) before an inevitable move to heavyweight or the WBC’s newly-formed bridgerweight division in the near future.
Though boasting an unbeaten record, Montenegro’s Prašović enters the bout with no real noteworthy names on his ledger and will be a sizeable underdog on fight night against the hard-hitting Anthony Joshua-managed Okolie.
