The long time beef between Leonard Ellerbe and Eddie Hearn continued this week, when the American berated Hearn over his comments on Gervonta Davis.
Hearn described Davis as “not a deep thinker” and “not articulate” in an interview on the DAZN Boxing Show yesterday, words which appear to have not gone down too well stateside.
Mayweather Promotions CEO Ellerbe took to Twitter to launch the tirade the way of Hearn.
@EddieHearn you did mean that in a disrespectful way with your privileged racist ass. Who tf you think you are saying he’s not deep thinker or not articulate? That’s the problem, mf’s like you think you are more superior than others. We don’t play that shit over here you fkn 🤡 https://t.co/2wNXBw9R7i

The two promoters have gone back and forth for the best part of four years, and it’s clear that won’t be changing any time soon.
Hearn once sang that Ellerbe was “obsessed with him” in the tune of Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone by Bill Withers, in a hilarious clip that went on to go viral.
Ellerbe has repeatedly threatened the Brit with violence should he see him in person, as well as dubbing him a “pathological liar.”
The feud seemed to be prompted by Hearn’s entry into the American market, as well as his public desire to sign former Ellerbe client Gervonta Davis.
The Baltimore star was promoted by Mayweather Promotions up until late last year, when, after a series of deleted tweets and bizarre texts messages, it was confirmed he would no longer be fighting under the Mayweather banner.
Despite this, it’s clear Ellerbe will still come out to bat for Davis whenever he’s on the receiving end of any criticism – particularly if that criticism comes from the direction of a certain Matchroom promoter.
Hearn and Ellerbe were unlikely to have been on each other’s Christmas card list last year, and 2023 looks set to continue in a similar vein.
