Lennox Lewis Shares Clip Of Eddie Hearn Criticising Tyson Fury-Francis Ngannou Fight

The last undisputed world heavyweight champion has continued his back and forth with Eddie Hearn,

Lewis has, in no uncertain terms, said that he thinks the crossover fights between former UFC champion turned boxing novice Francis Ngannou and first Tyson Fury back in October, and next Joshua on March 8, are ‘spectacles’ that he would prefer not to be happening.

Now he has apparently doubled down on those comments in a video shared on X with the words ‘Eddie Hearn this you?’

The video features Hearn talking about Fury’s career and the fights he thinks he should be having.

“What he hasn’t done in my opinion is create a legacy that he could have given his ability. People think I hate Tyson Fury but I rate him unbelievably, and I think he would be a favourite against Oleksandr Usyk.”

He then says Fury can’t be considered a true great while not having faced the best of the heavyweight division, which is the criticism Lewis is now levelling at Joshua.

“But you can’t start taking about him in the same breath as legends of the past without beating Usyk, without facing AJ, without facing the best of this era.

“But I get it, it’s a money game, he’s making a lot of money to fight a guy [Ngannou] who has never boxed before. He should be fighting Oleksandr Usyk for a lot more money but he knows how tough that fight is, he knows boxing, but he could have the chance to go down as a true great, and that’s important for him.”

The fight has added significance though – should Joshua get through Ngannou, he will indeed be fighting the winner of Usyk and Fury and therefore the newly crowned undisputed champion.
