Ukrainian maestro Vasiliy Lomachenko will return to the ring against Japan’s Masayoshi Nakatani on June 26 in Las Vegas, ESPN have confirmed.
The date and venue of Lomachenko’s bout was disclosed by Mark Kriegel during an ESPN+ boxing broadcast, with the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas hosting both that and Josh Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight bout with Jose Carlos Ramirez on May 22.
Lomachenko (14-2, 10 KOs) fights for the first time since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) in their lightweight unification showdown last October in Las Vegas.
Nakatani (19-1-1, 13 KOs) returns following an eye-catching 9th round KO of Puerto Rico’s Felix Verdejo last December, also in Las Vegas.
