Teofimo Lopez and Jack Catterall have expressed their interest in fighting one another.
The chatter began on social media yesterday when Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs) appeared unhappy at a rumour that his comeback opponent would be against unknown Mexican Pedro Campa.
Lopez shared his frustrations on Twitter. “I asked for Jose Ramirez and all the top heads at 140!”
Man I asked for Jose Ramirez and all the top heads at 140! We’re still discussing on the fighter. These fighters don’t want nothing to do with me.. smh!
And Josh Taylor a whole ass B****. Man’s protected like he’s in WITSEC!
God damn it! I was born in the wrong Era 😮💨 #Boxinghttps://t.co/O3JAULL7Tx

The 24-year-old New Yorker then criticised his rivals for wanting nothing to do with him before calling super-lightweight champ Josh Taylor a ‘whole ass bitch’ and describing him as ‘protected’.
The former lightweight top dog will begin a campaign at 140lbs this year but there has been no official announcement from his promoters Top Rank as to when, where and who he will fight.
Another disillusioned 10 stone fighter is Jack Catterall (26-1, 13 KOs). His career best performance against Taylor in February ended in highly controversial circumstances and since then any next move for the Chorley southpaw has been reported as nothing more than speculation.
Catterall replied to Lopez and agreed with his view of Taylor and told ‘The Takeover’, “We can get it on in the meantime”.
I agree he is a Bi*ch he won’t fight me so he won’t be fighting you anytime soon but we can get it on the meantime 🤝 https://t.co/HZKrDg3Ehg

Having agreed (albeit on Twitter) Catterall told Lopez and his team to get in touch directly.
Whether it will happen remains to be seen but what can’t be denied is that a fight between Lopez and Catterall is one many would love to watch.
