Hold the phone just for a bit.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman tweeted that according to VADA, Luis Ortiz had failed a drug test thus putting his upcoming November 4th title fight against WBC champion Deontay Wilder at risk.
But the Cuban’s management team has now posted a series of responses claiming that Ortiz has not broken any rules. He tested positive for hydrochloride but apparently, in this instance, it’s to keep his blood pressure in control.
Here are the responses from Team Ortiz.

According to Jay Jimenez, Ortiz’ manager, the fight against Wilder is still on.
“The substance + is Hydrochloride and #LuisOrtiz takes medicine for pressure containing this ingredient prescribed by a Doctor,” reported boxeocubano.com on Twitter
