Matchroom Boxing has announced the full schedule for its summer ‘Fight Camp’ series, which will take place at the Matchroom HQ in Brentwood, Essex, beginning on August 1.
Domestic super welterweight duo Sam Eggington (28-6, 17 KOs) and Ted Cheeseman (15-2-1, 9 KOs) collide on the inaugural August 1 bill, with Belfast puncher James Tennyson (26-3, 22 KOs) facing Cardiff’s Gavin Gwynne (12-1, 2 KOs) for the vacant British lightweight title.
Also on the card, former Commonwealth champions Jordan Gill (24-1, 7 KOs) and Reece Bellotti (14-3, 12 KOs) meet in a featherweight dust-up, while heavyweight Fabio Wardley (8-0, 7 KOs) faces Middlesbrough’s Simon Valley (17-2-1) for the vacant English title. Sheffield star-of-the-future Dalton Smith (5-0, 4 KOs) squares off with Liverpool’s Nathan Bennett (9-1, 2 KOs).
Next up on August 7, WBC super-featherweight champion Terri Harper (10-0, 5 KOs) headlines against Natasha Jonas (9-1, 7 KOs), supported by Commonwealth cruiserweight champion Chris Billam-Smith’s (10-1, 9 KOs) title defence against the undefeated Nathan Thorley (14-0, 6 KOs).
On the same show, Liverpool super-welterweight Anthony Fowler (12-1, 9 KOs) makes his second outing of the year against Adam Harper (9-1, 0 KOs), while prospect Aqib Fiaz (5-0, 0 KOs) steps up against Kane Baker (13-6, 0 KOs). Young featherweight prospect Hopey Price (2-0, 1 KO) also returns to action following his win on the Joshua-Ruiz II bill.
On August 14, Commonwealth middleweight champion Felix Cash (12-0, 8 KOs) tops the bill against Jason Welborn (24-8, 7 KOs), with recent Matchroom signing Zelfa Barrett (23-1, 14 KOs) returning to action against Eric Donovan (12-0, 7 KOs) over 10 rounds.
Meanwhile, 154lbs contender Kieron Conway meets Rotherham’s Navid Mansouri (20-3-2, 6 KOs) and unbeaten super-bantamweight Shannon Courtenay (5-0, 2 KOs) faces Rachel Ball (5-1, 0 KOs). Scottish super-middleweight talent John Docherty (8-0, 6 KOs) also returns to action.
Matchroom’s summer Fight Camp concludes with a bang on August 22, live on Sky Sports Box Office, as Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) collides with Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs).
On the undercard, Irish legend Katie Taylor (15-0, 6 KOs) defends her undisputed lightweight crown while Martin Bakole (15-1, 12 KOs) and Sergey Kuzmin (15-1, 11 KOs) battle it out in a clash of heavyweight fringe contenders. Exciting welterweight Luther Clay (13-1, 5 KOs) also appears against unbeaten rival Chris Kongo (11-0, 6 KOs) .
