Former UFC Middleweight Champion and now fight analyst, Michael Bisping, has laid out his prediction for the upcoming heavyweight showdown between WBC title holder, Tyson Fury, and previous UFC heavyweight sensation, Francis Ngannou.
Fury opted to face Ngannou after failing in his attempts to secure a clash with a fellow established boxer in the division, which has ultimately culminated in the making of one of the most high-profile crossover bouts of all-time.
Whilst Ngannou is yet to enter the ring as a professional, the selling point of the promotion is based on his extraordinary power in the UFC and the idea that he is a threat to any fighter if he can find a way to land clean.
To help with the transition into boxing and to better harness the potential of his big hits in the squared circle, Ngannou has appointed heavyweight legend, Mike Tyson, as his trainer for the spectacle, with the hope that he can provide some wisdom and techniques to help pull off one of the sport’s greatest upsets.
However, in an interview on the Eventful Lives Podcast, Bisping denied Ngannou a chance of shocking the world.
“Ngannou is going to get battered. That is no disrespect to Ngannou, Ngannou is incredible, as UFC fighter he was very good, but he can’t box with Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is a phenomenal boxer, he’s six-foot-nine, he’s fast, his feints and his technique, everything is brilliant.”
Fury-Ngannou will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the one-of-a-kind ten-rounder set to be broadcast worldwide in a sought-after pay-per-view event that UK fans can purchase via TNT Sports Box Office.
