The legendary former 2-time world heavyweight champion, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson caught up with FightHub.tv and he touched on a number of topics.
First up, there was the question of the disputable draw between the unified, undefeated WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO world middleweight kingpin, Gennady Golovkin and the Lineal RING magazine middleweight world title-holder, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Many felt Golovkin had done enough to earn the verdict in his favour. Golovkin dictated the tempo of the fight and both threw and landed more than his Mexican rival over the course of their fight.

But ‘Iron Mike’ shared that he agreed with the call and thinks the decision to declare the fight a draw was the correct decision.
“I was rooting for Canelo, but it was a draw. That was a good call.”
Both combatants are believed to be locked in negotiations to finalise an agreement to once again meet on the ‘Cinco De Mayo’ holiday weekend. The fans of boxing are salivating in anticipation of witnessing yet another opportunity to see Golovkin and Canelo settle their ongoing pound-for-pound debate.
On the topic of the rematch, Tyson revealed he is sitting on the fence and simply added: “We’ll have to see.”
It is no secret also that Tyson is a very astute student when it comes to boxing history.
He has shared that Roberto Duran is his favourite fighter of all time and his belief that Muhammad Ali is the greatest fighter of all time.
But casting his masterful over the current crop of active fighters. Tyson was asked his opinion as to who the standout fighter in boxing currently is.
It will come as no surprise to some that the name he has decided to go with the Ukranian 2-weight world champion, Vasyl Lomachenko as his choice.
“A guy from Ukraine called Lomachenko,” Tyson said.
Tyson shared he was very impressed by ‘Hi-Tech’s last performance against the previously undefeated fellow 2-time Olympic Gold medalist, Guillermo Rigondeaux.
“He did really well [against Guillermo Rigondeaux]. He always does really well. I think so, yes.”
Mike Tyson has also had his share of problems with the recently retired 50-0, 5-weight world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
He touched on ‘Money’s August exhibition clash with the reigning UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor. It is fair to say he wasn’t impressed.
“That was a real show. That’s what it turned out to be, a show,” Tyson emphatically said
