Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is regarded by many as one of the most fearsome fighters to ever live.
Tyson won his first 19 fights by KO before becoming the youngest ever Heavyweight champ at age 20 with a destructive performance over Trevor Berbick in 1986.
‘Iron’ Mike always carried an aura of extreme violence and unpredictability, this made him one of the most intimidating boxers of all time. He was famous for the physical and mental pressure he put on fighters inside the ring and had many a man beaten before the first bell.
The violence that served him so well during his boxing career has now become his greatest fear.
On the latest episode of his Hotboxin podcast, Tyson became emotional when detailing his daily struggles:
“I am so scared that I am so violent and I can’t control my violence. I’m scared”
Once nicknamed ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’, the 57-year-old revealed his natural instinct in life is to be aggressive:
“Does that make any sense to you? Me, Mike Tyson and I’m so f*****g scared of everything.”
“All I know how to do is attack, I feel that way.”
“They could never believe that I hate myself.”
His therapist, Sean McFarland, who has been helping Tyson with his issues added:
“You could pay him [Tyson] a compliment and he would want to kill you for it.”
“It’s too painful sometimes to feel that intimacy, to feel that love, to feel that care. He just wants to be left alone.”
