Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has made is pick on who comes out victorious if the super fight of Errol Spence Jr vs Terence Crawford was to happen.
For most hardcore boxing fans an undisputed welterweight showdown between Spence and Crawford would undoubtedly be the fight of the year. The matchup has been rumoured for some time but now looks closer than ever, with Crawford confident the fight happens this year in Sin City.
Speaking as a guest on former opponent Shawn Porter’s podcast The Porter Way , the WBO champion said:
“I’m 100% confident it happens this year.”
“We coming to Vegas. Gotta have somewhere neutral.”
Mike Tyson Gives Spence Jr-Crawford Pick
Mike Tyson knows a thing or two about career defining fights. During his heyday ‘Iron’ Mike won his first 19 fights by knockout before picking up his first world title aged 20 with a two-round demolition of Trevor Berbick in 1986. That victory meant he become the youngest ever boxer to win a heavyweight title, a record that still stands.
In a casual video interview with EsNews ‘Iron Mike’ was asked the question ‘Spence and Crawford are fighting, who wins?’, to which he gave his prediction:
“Crawford.”
‘The Baddest Man on the Planet” went on to detail why:
“The reason why I say Crawford is because looking at the guys they both fought, like, Porter and stuff.
“Nobody did to Porter what he did to him.”
Well known boxing adviser and promoter Sam Watson was standing next to Tyson and had a different opinion:
“I got Spence, but Crawford will fight back, he’s no chump. It’s going to be a great fight.”
