Former undisputed heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson has weighed in with a prediction for the fast approaching undisputed welterweight world title fight between Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford.
The mouth watering four belt unification has fans, pundits and fighters split down the middle, though Crawford is a slight favourite with the oddsmakers.
In a recent interview with ESNews, Tyson admitted that he was in agreement with the bookies and believes that Crawford will emerge victorious on July 29, however added the fight is a “pick em.”
“I’ve said Crawford, but it’s really a pick ’em fight and I’ll be happy either way.’
The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will play host to the all American clash, and is almost guaranteed to be a sell out.
The boxing world was fast losing hope that the two stars would ever lock horns, with promoter politics and broadcasting barriers always seeming to scupper plans for the fight in years gone by.
However, a deal was finally agreed this spring for one of the most significant fights of the century so far.
A two way rematch clause is included in the fight contract, meaning that, after waiting for what has felt like at eternity for the fight, there is every chance fans will see Spence and Crawford do battle twice in a matter of months.
Both are regarded as top 5 pound for pound fighters, and the victor will have laid a huge claim to being the best fighter in the sport, with some already giving that accolade to ‘Bud.’
