Oleksandr Usyk Reveals Angry Reaction His Mother Had Towards Tyson Fury

Oleksandr Usyk has revealed what his mother has said about Tyson Fury following months of build-up to their highly anticipated undisputed showdown this weekend.

There has been plenty of back and forth between these two unbeaten boxers. Most of it has come from Fury and been aimed at Usyk, who he has called a middleweight, a sausage, a gap-toothed rabbit, and many more insults.

When Fury got cut late in camp back in February ahead of the original proposed date, that further divided both camps with more insults being traded and promises being made about what would and wouldn’t happen in the ring when they finally meet.

That time is almost upon us as this weekend all four of the major world title belts will be up for grabs in the ring in Saudi Arabia for the first time since 1999 when Lennox Lewis became the last undisputed champion of the heavyweight division.

Usyk’s mother’s opinion stems from way back in November last year in one when the two fighters faced off with one another and Fury, ever the showman, kept pushing Usyk. The Ukrainian shoved back but things went no further.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, Usyk revealed exactly what his mother said about the incident and she wasn’t happy.

“My mom was angry, [she asked] ‘why did this man push you?’ I said, mum, ‘It’s just show please relax’. [She said], ‘listen, say [to him], if this man pushes you, I kill [him].'”

He was then asked what he expects from Fury in the press conferences this week.

“I don’t care. For me, I’m ready. What Tyson does for press and friends doesn’t matter.”

Fury is the bigger man which means that for many he is the favourite, although his recent form against Francis Ngannou has left many people wondering if he is past his best or simply underestimated the former UFC champion’s boxing abilities.

Usyk meanwhile has handily dispatched the threats of Anthony Joshua, twice, and Daniel Dubois in his last three fights which saw him move up from being undisputed cruiserweight champion to being a unified WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight title holder.

The fight will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office, TNT Sports Box Office and DAZN PPV this weekend.
