Current unified heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk has posted a picture of his updated physique, as he continues preparations for his fight with Daniel Dubois next month, and fans are all saying the same thing.
Usyk conquered the cruiserweight division during the 2010’s, ending his time at his natural weight-class in 2018, after defending his undisputed title against Tony Bellew.
Since then, the Ukrainian has stepped up to the heavyweight scene, where many felt his lack of power would see him struggle, but instead the now 36-year-old maintained his undefeated record, with wins over Chazz Witherspoon, Derek Chisora, and two victories over unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.
Now, Usyk seeks to make a second defence of his WBA, WBO and IBF crown, but there is a noticeable difference in his physique, with the champion putting on more weight and muscle as he continues to adjust to life as a heavyweight.
The 6ft 3in southpaw posted a picture onto social media, captioned ‘power time’, with fans commenting on Usyk’s ‘beefed up’ physique.

Despite his successful transition into a heavyweight, Usyk has just one stoppage win in his four fights at the weight, and none since his heavyweight debut win against Witherspoon. Based off of his revealed build, fans can anticipate that Usyk may weigh in higher than his career-high 221.5lbs (vs Joshua II), with the aim of adding another knockout victory to his record.
Alternatively, Usyk may be testing out a fight at an increased weight to test how many pounds he wishes to weigh for an undisputed title fight against Tyson Fury, who has a significant physical advantage over his fellow champion, and whether he can last the full twelve rounds whilst carrying extra mass.
Usyk will face Daniel Dubois on August 26th in Poland, headlining a card that can be watched live on TNT Sports.
