Rising welterweight star Vergil Ortiz has agreed terms to face unbeaten Brit Michael McKinson in a DAZN main event in early 2022, According to Mike Coppinger of ESPN.
Ortiz, the WBO’s number one contender, will be hoping to tee up a world title shot with a victory over McKinson, who currently sits at number three.
The rising American was last in action in August, stopping Egidijus Kavaliauskas in eight rounds in Frisco.
McKinson (21-0, 2 KOs), outpointed Chris Kongo over ten rounds in March before claiming a unanimous decision win over Egidijus Kavaliauskas in August.
