The all-Kiwi heavyweight clash between former WBO champion Joseph Parker and unbeaten contender Junior Fa has been delayed until March.
The former amateur rivals, who split four bouts in the unpaid code, were due to meet at the Spark Arena in Auckland on December 12, but irregularities were found in Fa’s blood tests, according to Newshub in New Zealand.
Fa (19-0, 10 KOs) will now undergo surgery on Tuesday and be sidelined for at least four weeks before resuming training in January. He has previously struggled with low iron and haemoglobin levels.
Parker (27-2, 21 KOs) was last seen halting Shawndell Winters in five in February whilst Fa outscored Devin Vargas over 10 in his previous outing in November 2019.
