Former heavyweight world champion, Joseph Parker, has weighed in with a prediction for the big clash between Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury.
Parker has become good friends with Tommy’s brother, Tyson, over the past couple of years, and has even relocated to Morecambe to train with the team.
It should perhaps come as no surprise then that Parker told Boxing Social that he is backing the youngest member of the famous fighting family to get the job done at the Diriyah Arena tonight.
“Tommy’s going to win by knockout. From what I’ve seen, he’s done everything right and is on point.”
“But a win is a win, whether it’s by knockout or whether it goes the distance.”
Months of bad blood and trash talk will finally be laid to rest in just a few hours time, when the two young stars do battle in Saudi Arabia.
Fight week has been predictably chaotic and entertaining, with Paul proposing a double or nothing bet to Fury, who agreed to put his entire purse on the line.
However, ‘The Problem Child’ later took to social media to claim things had gone quiet from Fury’s team and hinted the bet was no longer in play.
Many feel the pressure on the fight lays firmly on the shoulders of the Brit, amplified by comments from father John as well as Tyson that he should “stay in Saudi Arabia” should he fail to defeat Paul.
That said, this is still touted as the toughest test of either man’s career. Paul has faced mainly MMA fighters thus far, whilst most of Fury’s opponents have been journeymen.
The fight is available on BT Sport Box Office in the UK for £19.95 and ESPN+ in the States for $49.99.
