Kubrat Pulev says the contracts have been signed for his delayed shot at WBA Super, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua in London on December 12.
The IBF’s No.1 contender was originally supposed to face unified champion Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June before the Covid-19 Pandemic’s unwanted intervention. The fight was pushed back until finally finding a home at the end of the year.
“No turning back, no procrastination! Kubrat Pulev vs Anthony Joshua! The date is December 12 and the place is London!” said Bulgarian Pulev on his Facebook page.
“The date and place of the event are now final and not subject to change, and both parties have signed the official contract.”
For Joshua, victory over Pulev is one of the final hurdles before setting up a superfight with WBC title holder and fellow Brit Tyson Fury in April or May 2021.
Fury’s trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder is now off, according to the Gypsy King, with a December 5 fight in London, against an opponent to be named, now on the agenda.
