# Rival Declares He’s Next For Terence Crawford: “I’m Not Flat Footed Like Spence”

After his nine round demolition of Errol Spence Jr this past weekend, it would take a brave man to call out Terence Crawford.

[Crawford put in a punch perfect stoppage at the T-Mobile Arena](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/boxing/65838246), and there are few who believe there is a welterweight on the planet who could get the better of him right now.

However, former world champion Keith Thurman has thrown in his name right in the mix, telling [Boxing News](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFhQdi9sFgA) he’s next to fight the newly crowned undisputed.

> “The better athlete won. Crawford did his thing, Spence was flat footed.

> I already said I’m next baby! You want to keep doing these great fights and keep selling these pay per views? Thurman’s right here, Thurman has no fear.

> I’m not flat footed like that. Crawford is an amazing athlete, we grew up in the amateurs together and I’ve seen this man do so much throughout his career and I salute that man. But I want that next!”

A clash with Thurman, however, [like any other potential fight for Crawford](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/terence-crawford-taunts-rival-in-spence-win/), depends on whether or not Spence decides to activate his contractual rematch clause and take on ‘Bud’ again.

Spence has admitted on several occasions that 147lbs is a tough weight cut for him and would prefer any rematch to take place at light middle, however Crawford now holds all the cards and can dictate the terms for a second meeting.

So dominant was the Nebraska native in Las Vegas that a rematch could prove a difficult sell anyway, regardless of what weight class it occurs at.
