# Rocky Fielding Tackles Tyron Zeuge for WBA Regular World Title

Depending on how you look at it, Rocky Fielding *(26-1-0, 14 KO’s)* has the chance to become a World champion this Saturday night, when he battles Tyron Zeuge *(22-0-1, 12 KO’s)* for the latter’s WBA ‘Regular’ World super middleweight championship.

The undefeated German captured the title with a victory over Italian Giovanni di Carolinis, and notably defended it against Fielding’s fellow Liverpudlian Paul Smith twelve months ago.

Paul, incidentally, is the older brother of Callum – the man responsible for handing Fielding his first professional loss when he sensationally eviscerated him inside a round in 2015.

Nevertheless, Fielding has rebounded with an important, albeit controversial split decision victory over perennial contender John Ryder in addition to a first round destruction of David Brophy, among other wins.

Previously there was speculation of Fielding facing undefeated Indian superstar Vijender Singh for a commonwealth championship or WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez, but it has now been confirmed he will be fighting for a version of the WBA title that is subordinate to George Groves’ ‘Super’ version.

Indeed, Callum Smith is supposed to meeting George Groves in the final of the WBSS for the more highly-regarded WBA ‘Super’ title, a fight that appears to be threatened by Groves’ injuries he sustained in his successful semi-final defence against Chris Eubank Jr.

Ultimately, however, a win over the effective yet unremarkable Zeuge – a definite possibility, considering Fielding’s reserves of punching power – significantly bolsters his standing in the division, and, in the eyes of some, adds his name to the illustrious list of British super-middleweight world champions.
