Ryan Garcia Shows Incredible Timing And Speed In Blindfolded Training Clip

Ryan Garcia has always been one for posting clips of speed training ahead of his fights, but now the 24-year-old has shown off his timing in a recent video ahead of his much-anticipated fight with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis.

The Tank-Garcia rivalry has been getting more and more heated since the official fight announcement, and the hype around the catchweight bout has built even further following two press conferences.

Confidence is high in the Davis camp, with the former WBA and IBF Super-Featherweight champion claiming that he is the new face of boxing, taking over from Canelo Alvarez, but Garcia is backing himself to pull off the upset.

‘Tank’ is the bookies favourite to come out on top, especially as Garcia is having to cut to 136lbs, just one pound above the lightweight limit after previously stating that he would never fight at that weight again.

A rehydration clause is also in place, meaning Garcia cannot weigh more than 10lbs over the contracted limit on the morning of the fight.

What people point to in Garcia’s favour, though, is his speed. That was apparent in a clip shared by Ariel Helwani – with Garcia looking as sharp as ever on the reflex bag as he showed impeccable timing to land and slip despite being blindfolded.

The fight is hoped by many to act as a turning point for boxing as a whole, as two of the biggest names in the sport lay it all on the line and disregard the politics that so often causes these fights to fall through.

‘Tank’ and Garcia will take centre stage on April 22nd in Las Vegas and will be available to watch on both Showtime and DAZN pay-per-view in the US, with UK broadcast details expected soon.
