The concerns for Ryan Garcia’s mental health have continued to grow this week and the release of a new video has not changed that.
Garica’s behaviour has been erratic to say the least so far this year. He is currently on a press tour to promote his fight with Devin Haney on April 20 and has been pulling all manner of stunts.
He arrived to one press conference on horse, has been proceeded up on stage by dancing girls, has released footage of Haney sparring with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis from the Mayweather Gym, and has got in trouble with Haney for comments about his religion.
That isn’t all, as he has demanded that ticket prices for the fight be lowered, has told Haney he only fights for belts and not legacy, and has also complained about the fact it is to take place in Brooklyn at the Barclays Centre rather than a spot in his preferred Las Vegas.
The fight is his second big step up following his fight with Davis in April last year which ended with a body shot knockout in the seventh.
This upcoming clash is for the WBC super lightweight title Haney holds having beaten Regis Prograis late last year after he had previously become undisputed in the division below.
The new video shared on X by Garcia does nothing to ease concerns for Garcia who says he has no access to his money or phone.

“Hey guys, Ryan Garcia here. I’m coming on here to explain what is going on. I’m not in possession of my phone, I can’t get access to my phone, I can’t get on Instagram, my cards are locked, and I’ve real been taken advantage.
“I want to send out a video to the people that love, me to my fans that are concerned that I am OK. I’m not dead, I believe in Jesus, all those are lies, they tried to put me in jail, they blocking my cards, I can’t access my money, they’re not hitting me back, I don’t know what’s going on, but just so you know I’m OK.”
This strange situation is not ideal preparation for the biggest fight of his life.
