A sparring partner of Ryan Garcia has publicly stated that he hurt him with a body shot in training camp for Gervonta Davis fight.
In an interview before the bout, Davis hinted he had mole inside Garcia’s team, revealing information about his opponent being hurt to the body. It now appears his intel was good, with Erdenebat Tsendbaatar taking to social media to confirm he had Garcia in trouble in sparring with such a shot.
In a post on social media Tsendbaatar said:
“Hey King Ryan, in sparring I injured you with a body shot. Now you lost to Tank, I am sorry, are you OK?”

After rumours circulated insinuating he was the mole, the Mongolese lightweight released another statement denying all accusations, but said Garcia should have learned from those sessions.
“Hey King Ryan, my bro! My last post I used Google Translate. The translation was incorrect and confusing, my apologies. Who is Mole? What are you talking about? I am not mole. I don’t even speak English. I don’t even like Tank. I will fight him and KO him in the future. During our sparring, I tried to help you and sparred Tank-style boxing. I was cheering for you to win against Tank. You are a great boxer, but next time try to learn from sparring and hopefully you will not get hit by the same punch during the fight. Good luck to you and God bless!”
‘King Ryan’ has expressed his shock that someone in his team had ‘crossed’ him, but made no excuses for getting beat on the night.
“I didn’t mean that to come off as an excuse or anything. I lost, period. I’ll come back but I’m just shocked that part of my team crossed me, someone close to me. Unbelievable. But it’s a testimony that you must be aware of anyone.”
Davis went on to stop Garcia with a body shot in the seventh round, whether that was influenced by his insider knowledge we’ll never know.
