Ryan Garcia Warns Fans What Will Happen If They Don’t Buy Tank PPV

Super-lightweight contender, Ryan Garcia, has urged boxing fans to purchase the pay-per-view for his upcoming catchweight fight against Gervonta Davis if they want to see more blockbuster clashes in the future.

Over the years there has no doubt been a change in attitude towards matchmaking which has had a big effect on the sport, leading to fan frustration at the lack of big fights.

It appears that the days of taking on all comers are long gone, with many fighters of the modern era seemingly too worried about losing their undefeated records than proving that they are the best.

In recent times, the collapse of Fury-Usyk, Wilder-Joshua and Spence-Crawford have damaged the reputation of the sport.

However, the all-American clash between Garcia and ‘Tank’ can hopefully mark the beginning a new chapter in the sport.

On the PBC pre-fight documentary, ‘King Ry’ explained why fans must buy the PPV to inspire other big fights.

“If the fans reward this type of event, with two young fighters putting it all on the line, and they are both superstars that are making money regardless, without each other, it will inspire other fighters.

They will say ‘OK, that is how you make the money’. They [the fans] have got to buy it. If they want to see these types of fights, you have got to buy this fight.”

“This will show other fighters that this is how you do it, this is where it is going, this is the trend. I’m going to be prepared for this moment, I’ve been calling for this moment, I’ve been asking for this moment, I know that I am destined for this moment.”

Garcia and Davis will take to the ring on April 22nd, live to US fans on both DAZN and Showtime PPV for $84.99. UK fans are able to watch the fight as part of their monthly DAZN subscription.
