Billy Joe Saunders will look to make the fourth defence of his WBO world middleweight title against knockout sensation, David Lemieux in just under a month.
“The way you’ve got to look at it, the whole world will be watching this fight,” he explained exclusively to iFL TV.
“I will make it as hard or as easy as I want to make this fight. I will beat him convincingly enough where they won’t be able to rob me. I will beat him convincingly,” Saunders stressed.
“He’s a good fighter, he’s been in with [Gennady] Golovkin. He’s been in the ring with one good man and got stopped. No shame in it, he got stopped by Golovkin.” Commented Saunders, when evaluating his opponent.

“Anywhere you go the home fighter always gets a close decision, so I can’t afford to let it be close,” said Saunders. “If I didn’t think I couldn’t beat him convincingly, I wouldn’t go!”
Lemieux has been vocal about the fight on Twitter, and recently warned his upcoming opponent, that he has “one month until you hit the canvas.”
Saunders, though, is unimpressed with his taunts after the Canadian was silent at the recent press conference. “When I got to his face he didn’t want to say nothing at all. He got told in his own country. I’ve heard it all before.”

While Canelo and Golovkin and their respective camps remain at loggerheads, over a potential rematch in May 2018; the name Daniel Jacobs looks like a stellar test and is becoming more frequently associated with Saunders following his triumph against Luis Arias, ten days ago.
‘The Miracle Man’ found acclaim for his display against WBA, WBC, IBF & IBO middleweight divisional kingpin, Gennady Golovkin.
Jacobs was edged out in a tough 12 round bout and since that night, many have felt he perhaps deserved more.
“Danny Jacobs is a good fighter, he’s come through some tough battles in his life. Everybody’s talking about a ‘brilliant loss’ he had. He lost. You got beat. I’d rather have a terrible win than a brilliant loss,” Saunders concluded.
