# Shakur Stevenson Labels Former World Champion An ‘Easy Fight’

Shakur Stevenson has no doubt in his abilities, and just one fight into a new weight class believes a match-up against a recently unified titlist would be ‘easy.’

After world title success at both feather and super-featherweight, Stevenson has joined the lightweight ranks with his confidence high.

Unfortunately for fans, he’s struggled to get a fight this year, with negotiations with formerly undisputed champion, Devin Haney, collapsing early and then Vasily Lomachenko turning down an offer.

Speaking to [FightHype](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfveZFXwn4s), Stevenson said Lomachenko not fighting him and apparently moving towards a fight with George Kambosos Jr – formerly unified lightweight champion – was ‘weak.’

> “I think some weak ass s\*\*t if you ask me, but I can’t do s\*\*t about it. Hopefully after I get this belt, he ain’t got a belt and he want to get my belt.”
>
> “I don’t see it going on and on and I don’t get a chance to fight him. Honestly, I think me and him could be next. Unless he really does go with George Kambosos, but I don’t see Lomachenko as a guy that want to fight an easy fight like Kambosos.”

It’s not the first time Stevenson has insulted Kambosos. [The pair were involved in a ringside clash](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/shakur-stevenson-ringside-kambosos/) following the latter’s fight against Brit Maxi Hughes – a controversial decision win in the eyes of many fans.

Stevenson would later call the Australian fighter ‘terrible for boxing.’

Whilst nothing official has come out about a Lomachenko-Kambosos bout, there have been whisperings. As for Stevenson, [he takes his shot at becoming three-weight world champion this month against hard-hitting Edwin De Los Santos.](https://www.toprank.com/all-news/edwin-de-los-santos-winning-this-fight-will-change-my-life-forever/)
