Filip Hrgovic has been given a list of six possible opponents to face on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s fight with Francis Ngannou on March 8.
On Friday night, news broke that Tyson Fury was pulling out of the undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk on February 17th because of a cut received in sparring.
However, soon after it was confirmed that the entire card was pulled and rescheduled for May 18. After that news, Hrgovic was sent a list of names to choose from for his next fight by Saudi Entertainment chief Turki Alalshikh when he appeared on the MMA Hour.
“I give him the option to fight on the undercard on March 8. Now I call him for six names, choose one of them, accept, and we want them on the 8th of March.
“Hrgovic Dubois, Hrgovic Bakole, Hrgovic Sanchez, Hrgovic Miller, Kabayel Hrgovic, Hrgovic Jared Anderson. If both of them accept we are ready to deliver the fight to the fans on March 8. We are not playing.”
Hrgovic has shown mixed form over the last couple of years. Most recently he fought on the Day of Reckoning card and dispatched Mark De Mori in the first round. Before that he controversially beat Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang on points.
This new list of names includes some solid contests for Hrgovic, although he might prefer to try and wait it out for his shot at the world title once Fury and Usyk have settled their score.
