Conor Benn returned to the ring in Las Vegas this weekend, beating the previously undefeated Pete Dobson wide over twelve rounds.
It was the Brit’s second fight since his ongoing doping drama, and the second unanimous decision victory as he looks to chase big fights.
WBC Super-Lightweight Champion Devin Haney, who has previously entertained a move up to welterweight to face Benn, alluded to the Brit losing power following the VADA positive tests in 2022.

Errol Spence Jr, who last year lost the unified welterweight titles to rival Terence Crawford, criticised the fact that Benn had fought in Vegas in the afternoon to cater to UK fans watching from home.

Benn responded to Haney’s comments, once again welcoming the fight.
“What the f**k’s he talking about? He ain’t knocked anybody out in his last fifteen fights. What’s he talking about power? He’s never had power. My DNA’s strong. Don’t worry about that. I’m fresh outta my dad. When you want to talk about power, he’s just jealous cause he’s never had none. If he wants to come and find out about the power I’ll happily show him.”
“He can get it next. He’s been very vocal. His dad, Bill Haney, has shown a lot of respect, a loot of class, but he needs to teach his little kid some manners. Some lessons. If he wants to come, I’ll deal with him no problem. Easy work. I’ll fight him wherever. I’m doing a little American tour at the moment. He’s got quick hands, fast feet, he’s athletic – not more than me. People go to sleep when they watch Haney fight.”
The undefeated Brit has an appeal hearing brought on by the British Boxing Board of Control this month which will determine where he can fight next.
