Unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr says a three-belt match-up with WBA Super title-holder Yordenis Ugas is being targeted to take place in April.
Speaking on Instagram live, WBC/IBF champion Spence said: “The fight’s in April. Man down… strap season. He already knows what time it is.”
A unification clash between the pair had previously been in doubt, with the WBA ordering a box-off for Ugas’ belt. Ugas would have faced mandatory foe Eimantas Stanionis, with the winner then to take on WBA Regular champion Radzhab Butaev.
Stanionis has since agreed to step aside and allow a Spence unification bout, as he will now face Butaev.
