# Spence-Crawford Undisputed Title Fight Possible For October

A deal looks set to be completed for Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford to fight for the undisputed welterweight championship.

[ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported the news](https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/34032359/sources-errol-spence-jr-terence-crawford-closing-deal-undisputed-welterweight-championship-fight-october) earlier this evening and revealed that the fight could take place in October with Las Vegas the likely host.

For a long time, it looked as though the two American stars would never fight one another due to them having different promoters. But that all changed when Crawford became a free agent last November bringing an end to his relationship with Top Rank.

The WBO welterweight champion was a guest last month on former opponent Shawn Porter’s podcast The Porter Way and [seemed confident the super-fight against Spence would take place](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/errol-spence-terence-crawford-in-vegas/).

“I’m 100% confident it happens this year. We coming to Vegas. Gotta have somewhere neutral,” said Crawford who had no interest fighting in Dallas, Spence’s backyard.

[After beating Yordenis Ugas in April](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/spence-gunning-for-crawford-after-dismantling-ugas/) to add the WBA title to his collection Spence made it clear he wanted Crawford next.

“Everybody knows what I want. I want Terence Crawford next. That’s the fight I want. I’m coming for that mother fucking belt.”

Spence and Crawford have 66 fights between them, 51 wins inside the distance, no losses and have won nine world titles between them.
